It is available for Unix, Linux, and Microsoft Windows platforms. A problem has been reported in the Sun Microsystems Java Virtual Machine that occurs when implementing the Security Manager. Exploitation of this condition can result in the crashing of the virtual machine itself. The specifics of the problem are not currently known. Specific circumstances are not known in which exploitation of this issue could occur. The issue is, however, indicative of a problem in the internals of the Java Virtual Machine. It is conjectured that this is a security issue, though this has not yet been confirmed.
