Hola mundo,

Saludos!

Gunnar,

I have been invited to speak at the 4to. Congreso Internacional de
Ingeniería Industrial y de Sistemas de Computacionales in Veracruz in
early April.

They're paying my way, of course. I am not prosperous enough to travel
much on my own, and since I live in Florida, going south in the winter
is no great attraction for me. :)

The only thing I'm supposed to do in February besides my usual writing
and editing (which is certainly more than enough!) is give a half-day
lecture at the University of Florida about online journalism techniques,
but that's not on a tight schedule; it's only about a two hour drive,
the students and professors are there all the time, and the honorarium
is small enough that I get to pick the exact day, as long as it's "in
February."

- Robin

Ok, this is great news for us! :-D

Let me check with my comitee, I think we can bring you over here... A
ticket from Miami to Mexico should be quite cheap, and having you here
will be worth it. I cannot still guarantee you anything, but I am 90% sure
we will be able to bring you. Also, my main point of concern was not
stepping on somebody else's shoes - We have many different free software
meetings and conferences in Mexico, and I would not want to steal or share
somebody else's guest - but this group is quite different from ours, so
there will not be any problem, I guess :)

The conference will be held between Wednesday Feb 5 and Saturday Feb 8 - I
suppose you are not working on Saturday... Maybe you could take Friday
off in order to spend at least a bit more time here - does it sound
possible?

Anyway, I'll talk this over with the folks here, I hope to have an answer
in a couple of days.

Greetings!
